As part of my internship with Europe on Track, my route took me to the beautiful, cultured city of Zagreb for a few days. Thanks to AEGEE-Zagreb, they found the perfect little restaurant to sponsor us with tasty food throughout our stay. Located centrally close to the plaza square is a quaint little restaurant named Gajbica. With bright colors and a chilled vibe, we felt we had a comfortable place to relax during our breaks.
I had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes off the menu including the salads, soups, and omelets. With the food, there are also great coffee options and amazing fresh pressed juices! The salad is an explosion of flavor with fresh, crisp lettuce and additions of pomegranate seeds, feta cheese, corn, and peppers. Gajbica does not lack in flavor and with many vegan and vegetarian options, the restaurant is in touch with the needs of all people.
I was very satisfied to have such healthy options as sometimes it can be hard to find healthy food while travelling. In addition, the owner of the restaurant is so welcoming and friendly, as well as all the staff. You can tell there is a lot of effort into making this a cozy place with a unique charm. As well, there is a cute little sitting area outside to enjoy a cup of coffee on a nice sunny day.
Thank you for having us, Gajbica – see you again!
